We work Dakota at Home, South Dakota's aging and disability resource center, to pay and train family caregivers. You can receive payment through Paid Care as a Structured Family Caregiver.

Who Is Eligible?
1. Live in South Dakota
You must live in the State of South Dakota
2. Live With Your Caregiver
For the HOPE Waiver and Structured Family Care Program, your caregiver has to live in the same house or apartment as you.
3. HOPE Waiver Eligibility
Age 65 or older or age 18 or older with a disability. Be a part of the Home and Community-Based Options and Person-Centered Excellence (HOPE) waiver or qualifies for the HOPE waiver

South Dakota Family Caregivers Questions

At Paid.Care, we help family caregivers in South Dakota receive payment for the care they already provide. We guide you through eligibility, program enrollment, and training. Our support team also helps with paperwork and tech tools to make sure you get paid consistently and on time.

To qualify, the person you care for must be eligible for South Dakota Medicaid and require help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, meals, or medication. You must be 18 or older, legally allowed to work in the U.S., and not the spouse or legal guardian of the person you're caring for.

If you have Medicaid, training and support is covered by Paid.care and is at no cost to you or your loved one. Select Medicare and Mediaid plans cover the cost of Paid.care training and support for their members. Our program allows families to live a healthy and happy life in their own homes.
In South Dakota, anyone with Medicaid or eligible for the HOPE Waiver (that could be you) may qualify to receive payment.

Our caregiver programs combine virtual and/or in-person training to ensure you’re completely comfortable caring for your adult or child family member confidently at home.
During onboarding, we will address mobile app login training, family care training, and more financial assistance training.

You’ll keep track of your caregiving hours in the Paid.care mobile app and get paid weekly via direct deposit.
Our programs pay your personal care caregiver a daily stipend that is tax-free income for the caregiver.

You’ll work with a care manager or coach at Paid.care to understand your caregiving responsibilities.
Typically these include help with ADLs, Homemaker, emotional support, and more support services or care services.
